There really is a difference!

The Essential oils in Young Living's collection are life-enhancing gifts from the plant kingdom, revered for centuries for their restorative properties to body, mind, and spirit.
Essential Oil Basics
Essential oils are the highly concentrated, volatile, aromatic essences of plants. They are naturally anti-biotic, immune supporting, and are rich in vitamins, minerals and other plant compounds.
All the countries of the world provide essential oils, making aromatherapy a truly global therapy, and information on the specific properties of each essential oil can be found in any one of the hundreds of books published worldwide on the topic.
Understanding the Grades of Oils
There are significant differences between synthetic fragrance oils, which should never be ingested, and pure essential oils. All Young Living Essential Oils are therapeutic-grade and Earth Kosher-Certified.
When it comes to essential oils - farming, distilling and sourcing in everything.  Young Living is the only company with carefully curated farms all over the world (most have no farms at all and rely on chemical processing) where meticulous processes ensure only the highest quality product.
Be advised! Therapeutic-grade essential oils are the only grade I would ever use. Synthetics, pesticides, solvents and chemical additives may SMELL the same but they will NOT have the properties, AND they are certainly not anything I would ever want to use on my body.
Gems of Nature
Pure (therapeutic-grade) essential oils, like precious jewelry or fine wine, are gems of nature -- the quintessential life force of aromatic plants, sometimes called the "soul" of the plant. People who truly appreciate the qualities of pure essential oils consider each drop a precious jewel to be savored, enjoyed and protected. They will (in general) cost more than other grades of oils, but the quality more than makes up for it.
